PASEO NUEVO LIVE | FREE CONCERT SERIES IN OCTOBER

Take advantage of the beautiful Fall evenings we’ve been having with free live concerts in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara.Paseo Nuevo Shops and Restaurants is hosting a new annual concert series starting Oct. 8, featuring some of the area’s finest traditional and contemporary jazz artists. Every Thursday evening in October, De la Guerra Place will be transformed into a music lounge and a new artist will take the stage.

Paseo Nuevo will host the following performances in October:

Oct. 8: Ventura Jazz Orchestra featuring Donna Greene – Vocalist Donna Greene will recreate music from the swing era and beyond with five saxophone players, four trombonists, four trumpet players and a rhythm section: piano, guitar, bass and drums.

Oct. 15: trioKAIT – This modern instrumental trio is lead by Kait Dunton on piano, with Cooper Appelt on electric bass and Jake Reed on drums.

Oct. 22: Jade Hendrix – This young soulful singer-songwriter was voted best female artist of Ventura County in 2014. She has invited Jacob Scesney on sax to perform with her.

Oct. 29: Ike Jenkins Madness Band – Ike is a composer and musician, leading this big band ensemble comprised of professionals and advanced students.

The concerts will take place on Thursday evenings from 5–7 p.m., and tables and seating are available on a first-come basis. For more information and to view the complete schedule, please visit the website.

A Look Back at 2015 with Natalie Notions

I can’t believe 2015 has come and gone. I have a lot of highlights and great memories from last year, include my favorite fashion memories. Here are some of my favorite looks from 2015. Each one reminds me of what I was doing at that time. What time of year it was, who I was with and where I was going. I love that fashion can take you back to a time in your life, even if that time was last month. Similar to a smell or a song, an outfit can evoke nostalgia.
